The Faithful: Women of the Bible series premieres today, Sunday, March 22, 2026! In the foreground of the above picture is one of my favorite Biblical characters, Sarah, also played by, you guessed it, a favorite actor of mine, Minnie Driver. Ever since I first read Sarah’s story as a teenager, not only did I shed tears, but my heart also bled for her.
We’ve all been the underdog at some point in our lives, living to gain others’ approval, maybe losing our sense of dignity, or becoming untrue to who God created us to be. That’s what being barren was like in Biblical times. I’ll stop right there, watch the series, then join me in a discussion this Women of the Bible TV show after each episode every Saturday until the Saturday after Easter. (The replay is on Mondays, and I want to give people a chance to see it before we discuss.)
I’ve also enclosed a free printable and will have a new one each week as well, no hoops to jump through, no need to sign up for my newsletter (unless you want to. 🙂 ) This is also my first printable ever, so let me know how I did.
I’ve included the synopsis below and the official trailer. I hope you will join me on Saturday, March 28th at 10:00 am, for our first discussion, right here in the comments.
Blessings,
Dee
Synopsis
The highly anticipated Biblical Event Series, The Faithful: Women of the Bible, starring Minnie Driver, Natacha Karam, and Jeffrey Donovan, premieres Sunday, March 22 (8:00–10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX and unfolds as a three-week television event culminating on Easter Sunday, April 5. Episodes will also stream the next day on Hulu.
Filmed on location in Rome and Matera, Italy, this landmark drama thoughtfully brings to life stories from the Book of Genesis through the women whose lives were woven into God’s unfolding plan.
Through moments of waiting, trust, brokenness, forgiveness, and redemption, the series explores the deeply human experiences behind Scripture and invites viewers to see familiar passages with renewed understanding and compassion.
Each episode follows the journeys of five women of faith:
- Sarah (Minnie Driver) — learning to trust God’s promises even when hope feels impossible
- Hagar (Natacha Karam) — discovering that God sees and cares for the forgotten
- Rebekah (Alexa Davalos) — wrestling with family, purpose, and the consequences of choice
- Leah (Millie Brady) and Rachel (Blu Hunt) — sisters navigating love, identity, and God’s blessing
Through their struggles and perseverance, we are reminded that God works through imperfect people to accomplish a story far greater than any one life — a story that ultimately points forward to hope.
Produced by FOX Entertainment Studios and distributed worldwide by FOX Entertainment Global, the series is executive produced by Carol Mendelsohn (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation), Julie Weitz (Game of Silence), and Rene Echevarria (Carnival Row, The 4400), who also serves as showrunner.
Consider watching together — with family, friends, or a small group — and use the stories as a starting point for conversations about faith, trust, and God’s faithfulness across generations.
